AEGON has launched its first iPad app, with interactive tools to provide users an engaging overview of the company, our products and services, and our core business of life insurance, pensions and asset management around the world.
The app can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
While this is the first mobile product for AEGON worldwide, a number of subsidiaries, including AEGON The Netherlands and Transamerica, have also developed their own, local apps. Many of these are aimed at specific customer groups. Transamerica Retirement Service’s “TransQuote,” for example, generates long-term insurance quotes when users enter their ages and desired benefits. In The Netherlands, AEGON Bank has developed an iPhone app that allows users to check their savings accounts.
More mobile apps are in development and will be accessible through a range of tablets and smart phones, including BlackBerry and those running on Android.
AEGON - With You for Life
The first AEGON corporate app shares its name with our recently-released corporate film: AEGON - with You for Life.
In the introduction, CEO Alex Wynaendts speaks about the company and invites users to click on various regions of an interactive map. Pop-up pages describe AEGON’s presence in these regions and provide links to the relevant country sites.
The app’s “Sponsorship” section details our global sponsorships – the pianist Lang Lang and the Amsterdam soccer team Ajax – as well as the local golf and tennis sponsorships of Transamerica and AEGON UK. By opening and closing different doors of a locker, app users can watch videos of the musician and the players at work, play an iPad keyboard or learn about the sponsorships’ impact on young people and local communities.
Also included is AEGON’s corporate film, which transports viewers around the world to learn about the real-time efforts of different employees, and the life-cycle wheel, offering insights into the products and services AEGON offers customers at every stage of life.
Finally, the app reconstructs a classroom and provides an interactive opportunity to learn about AEGON’s approach to sustainability – our investment policy, efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and what we are doing to ensure that we are making a difference in the markets in which we operate.
