The AEGON Management Board currently has six members.



Alex Wynaendts

Full name
Alexander Rijn Wynaendts (1960, Dutch)

Present position
CEO, Chairman of the Executive and Management Board of AEGON N.V.

Career
Alex Wynaendts began his career in 1984 with ABN Amro, working in Amsterdam and London in the Dutch bank’s capital markets, asset management, corporate finance and private banking operations. In 1997, Mr. Wynaendts joined AEGON as Senior Vice-President for Group Business Development.

Since 2003, he has been a member of AEGON’s Executive Board, overseeing the company's international growth strategy. In April 2007, Mr. Wynaendts was named AEGON’s new Chief Operating Officer and in April 2008, Mr. Wynaendts succeeded Don Shepard as Chairman of AEGON’s Executive Board.

Jan Nooitgedagt

Full name
Jan J. Nooitgedagt (1953, Dutch)

Present position
CFO, member Executive and Management Board of AEGON N.V.

Membership of other Boards
Jan Nooitgedagt has worked in Europe’s financial services sector for almost 30 years. Educated at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, he worked briefly for PriceWaterhouseCoopers before joining Ernst & Young in 1980. He became a partner of the firm in 1989. In addition to his audit experience, Mr. Nooitgedagt has played a key role in developing Ernst & Young’s financial services business, as well as taking a leading role in the firm’s growing Merger & Acquisitions advisory practice.

Mr. Nooitgedagt headed Ernst & Young’s financial services business in the Netherlands for five years, until his appointment in 2005 to the firm’s Executive Committee in the Netherlands. A year later, Mr. Nooitgedagt was appointed Chairman of Ernst & Young in the Netherlands, before being named Managing Partner for the Netherlands and Belgium in July 2008.

Mark Mullin

Full name 
Mark Mullin (1963, US citizen)

Present position
President & CEO of AEGON Americas, member of the Management Board, responsible for the Americas.

Career
Mark Mullin became President & CEO of AEGON Americas and member of AEGON’s Management Board at the beginning of January 2010. Mr. Mullin began his career with AEGON in 1987. Since then, he has held various positions within the organization both in the United States and in Europe.

In 2002, he was appointed President & CEO of Diversified Investment Advisors, AEGON’s US subsidiary. Four years later, Mr. Mullin became head of AEGON’s annuity and mutual fund businesses.

In January 2009, he was named President of AEGON Americas and worked closely with his predecessor Pat Baird until his appointment as President & CEO twelve months later.

Marco Keim

Full name
Marco B.A. Keim (1962, Dutch)

Present position
CEO of AEGON The Netherlands, member Management Board AEGON N.V. (as of June 1, 2008), responsible for the Netherlands.

Career
Marco Keim began his career with accountants Coopers & Lybrand/ Van Dien.  Mr. Keim has also worked for aircraft maker Fokker Aircraft and NS Reizigers, part of the Dutch national railway company NS Group.

In 1999, Mr. Keim joined Swiss Life in the Netherlands as a board member. Three years later, he was appointed CEO before joining AEGON The Netherlands at the beginning of June 2008.

Gábor Kepecs

Full name
Gábor Kepecs (1954, Hungarian)

Present position
CEO of AEGON Central and Eastern Europe, member Management Board AEGON N.V., responsible for Central & Eastern Europe.

Career
Gábor Kepecs began his career with the Hungarian government before joining former state-owned insurance company Állami Biztosító. In 1990, he was appointed CEO, two years before Állami Biztosító was privatized and acquired by AEGON.

Since 1992, Mr. Kepecs has been CEO of AEGON Hungary. In that time, he has spearheaded an expansion of AEGON’s businesses not only in Hungary but also across the Central & Eastern European region.

Otto Thoresen

Full name
Otto Thoresen (1956, British)

Present position
CEO of AEGON UK, member Management Board AEGON N.V., responsible for the United Kingdom, India and Variable Annuities in Europe.

Career
Otto Thoresen joined Scottish Equitable in 1978, where he qualified as an actuary and worked in a number of roles including marketing manager. He left Scottish Equitable in 1988 to take up various management and executive roles at UK insurers Abbey Life and Royal Insurance before returning to AEGON UK in 1994 as Development Director.

In 2000, Mr. Thoresen was appointed Finance Director of AEGON UK before becoming the company’s CEO three years later.
