AEGON and its employees around the world support a wide range of good causes and charitable organizations.
These vary from research into cancer and other serious illnesses to education for disadvantaged children and financing music and the arts. In 2009, AEGON donated a total of EUR 7.3 million, down from EUR 10.7 million the year before, and equivalent to 3.6% of the company's net income for the year.
