Formed in 1983 through the merger of two Dutch insurers, AGO and Ennia, Aegon today employs approximately 24,000 people, serving millions of customers in more than 20 countries around the world. Our company headquarters are in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Aegon has three main markets: the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. We have established new and growing businesses in emerging markets in Asia, Latin America and Central & Eastern Europe, and we are also a significant provider of life insurance in Spain. In North America, Aegon operates as Transamerica.
