Compliance Officer
As a Compliance Officer, located in The Hague, you will be working in an optimistic and progressive team in which you will be able to learn a lot and be able to build a good relationship with your colleagues. Compliance works with all departments within the value chain and as a result your field of expertise is constantly evolving which makes working in this team extra interesting. You share new insights and developments with the team and regularly attend expert training courses, knowledge sessions and working groups within the Global Aegon Asset management organization. As member of the Aegon AM Local Compliance team you will support your direct colleagues, the Head of Compliance and the Global Head of Compliance in the implementation of the global compliance program and yearly plan, delivery of local and global compliance projects/initiatives, and alignment of local and global compliance practices and standards. You will liaise with relevant areas of the Aegon AM departments as well with business across affiliates consistent to drive compliance objectives.
Your responsibilities:
Coordinate and administer assigned local compliance responsibilities. Support compliance across AAM affiliates and investment platforms.
Lead, coordinate, draft and deliver local compliance reporting, including committee/board/other governance/support Group Compliance submissions, liaising with affiliates and other functions; develop/maintain reporting KRIs/KPIs.
Act as a liaison between AAM local compliance teams, across AAM risk teams, and with Aegon Group Regulatory Compliance.
Assist in the development and alignment of compliance policies, including annual policy reviews and attestations, in accordance with applicable regulations and consistent with the AAM policy framework.
Act as the specialist for ALM and KYC/CDD.
Required Qualifications:
At least a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
A minimum of five years relevant work experience in the asset management or banking industry or equivalent professional experience.
Fluent in both Dutch and English, written and verbal.
Solid legal background with strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a small-team environment and to work independently and to multi-task with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
A strong sense of accountability with a drive for results.
Professional maturity and ability to be discreet in working with highly sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of five years Compliance (officer) experience with an asset manager or bank, or related industry.
Knowledge of Sanction regulation; AML and KYC/CDD
