Expense Controller
As an Expense Controller it is your job to ensure a particular Management Control Cycle of Expenses, Budget, Quarterly and Monthly Reporting. You will be involved as well in Corporate Center Projects and related project reporting. You analyze, report and monitor the Corporate Center expenses by department and project and support budget holders in budgeting and forecasting of their departments and/or projects. You provide variance analysis and explanation to management on a quarterly basis and are in the lead of calculating and communicating the quarterly Corporate Center charges to the country units and provide details when needed. Besides you perform a trustworthy monthly book close.
The department Holding, Treasury & Expense Control (HT&EC) is part of Group Finance. The immediate objective of Group Finance is to provide the Executive Board, Management Board and Supervisory Board with meaningful (non-) financial information (e.g. capital, income, balance sheet, sales etc) to support the board’s decision making process and reporting of external disclosures like quarterly press releases and the annual report.
Profile
As Expense Controller you have an analytical mind and are able to convince others when needed. In addition, you are good at establishing valuable partnerships and inspire confidence. You are a self-starter, structured and have valuable stakeholder management skills. In addition, you have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting/Controlling, (Business) Economics , General Management or equivalent;
3-5 years of control experience within an international corporate in the Netherlands;
knowledge and experience of reporting tools (extensive Excel user);
demonstrably strong analytical, project management and organizational skills;
experience working within an international environment;
must be able to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal), as well as persuade and influence at all levels of the organization, including Board level;
good sense of humor.
