Financial Risk Manager
Financial Risk Management is responsible for developing and maintaining the global framework for measuring and managing financial risks in the company. The FRM department provides financial subject matter expertise to the CFO and CRO for financial risk focused items, such as:
Measurement and monitoring of financial risk ALM and hedging initiatives; Implementation of methodology, for example applying market risk models to devise optimal ALM strategies; Maintenance of financial risk aspects of the ERM Framework and setting risk strategy.
You will provide global expertise in Asset Liability Management and to support the wider financial risk aspects of the ERM Framework. Your responsibility is to enhance ALM and to embed the ALM standards of practice. You will directly support new ALM initiatives and will have oversight of existing ALM practices. You will play a leading role in the global ALM community across the Aegon Group. Furthermore, you will Actively participate in ALM events, facilitate knowledge and best practice sharing across the global organization.
You will report directly to the Global Head of ALM.
Profile
As Financial Risk Manager you are an experienced and competent sparring partner for the various stakeholders. You are able to test solutions and to sharpen things up. You formulate and substantiate your advice and insights. You form good working relationships and enjoy working together with others. Finally, you pay attention to quality and are proactive in your approach.
Completed Master’s degree in econometrics, physics mathematics or actuarial;
an expert with 6+ years’ experience of which 3 in Financial Risk Management;
technical experience in investment and mismatch risk management, derivatives and hedging;
proven influencing and relationship management skills;
strong communication skills with ability to communicate technical topics;
expertise in complex hedging & performance reporting;
integrity to uphold risk management principals and mandates;
demonstrable and strong problem solving and decision-making skills;
able to challenge conventional practices and pursue continuous improvement;
planning, prioritizing and goal setting skills;
experience in an international corporate setting desirable;
excellent knowledge of the English language in speech and writing;
persistent, convincing, decisive, initiative-oriented, solution-oriented and organization-conscious;
connecting and focused on cooperation.
