Manager Finance
Responsibilities:
- Exhibits a thorough understanding of technical accounting concepts for multiple bases of accounting include STAT and GAAP.
- Prepares written analyses of issues to enhance the understanding of senior management.
- Manage consistent and accurate disclosures relating to large and unusual transactions for financial reporting across various entities.
- Manage activities of assigned team including supervisors and/or individual contributors. These activities include working with team members on financial reporting to produce annual statutory financial statements audits and quarterly blue book 'notes to the financials'.
- Influence and lead a team of 1-2 employees in a way which aligns and promotes their given department’s strategy and values.
- Uses knowledge and understanding of technical accounting concepts for statutory accounting to assist with regulatory policy and compliance questions
- Assist with maintaining reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements
- Collaborate with numerous other departments to obtain support and ensure compliance with required disclosures.
- Understand and communicate directives from senior management.
- Hold one-on-one meetings with employees on performance and career development.
- Gather information and handle tactical questions for third party firms such as external auditors; complete or review issue papers and control memos. Identify potential accounting issues/errors and escalate appropriately.
- Approved budgeted staff expenses
- Review, design and implement process and control improvements in area of expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
- Eight years of accounting/finance experience including three years of supervisory/management experience
- Strong people management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, to diverse audiences
- Organizational and prioritization skills
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel and financial business systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of policy and technical accounting concepts for Statutory Accounting
- Knowledge of assigned business area of Statutory Reporting (e.g. investments, premiums, corporate finance)
Working Conditions:
- Commuting Remote employees will need to report to a Company office location at times, but will perform their work primarily remotely.

Compensation:
The Salary for this position generally ranges between $104,000 - $138,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs.
Bonus Eligibility:
This position is also typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion.
