Senior Director, LIHTC Investor Relations - Aegon AM
Responsibilities:
- Proactively develop new investor relationships and lead existing relationships for Aegon’s LIHTC funds
- Drive growth of Aegon’s LIHTC platform through expansion of the investor base
- Develop a solid understanding of Aegon’s investment strategy and operational functions to effectively respond to investor requests
- Monitor LIHTC market conditions for buy and sell side activities, including legislative updates
- Participate in the creation of LIHTC funds through direct collaboration with Aegon’s LIHTC Production team
- Attend conferences and participate in other industry related events to increase visibility and improve the market impact of the Aegon brand
- Extensive travel to implement the sales strategy and meet with prospective and existing clients
- Work with multiple internal teams (Compliance, Marketing, AAM Sales) and external service providers to formulate marketing campaigns/strategies for existing and new initiatives
- Effectively manage major communications to clients throughout all stages of the investment life cycle
- Review and negotiate legal agreements to ensure terms are in alignment with client expectations
- Lead all aspects of the investor closing process to ensure all requisite approvals are obtained to effectuate a timely closing of investments
- Supervise staff in accordance with the RIA policies and procedures adopted by AAM and Aegon Real Assets
- Provide regular updates to management regarding new client leads and potential new opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in finance, business, real estate or relevant field or equivalent experience
- Ten (10) years of LIHTC experience, preferably with a financial institution or LIHTC syndicator
- Investor relations experience and/or industry recognition to attract new investors to Aegon
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Strong sales, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and accomplish tasks with little oversight
- Strong investment competence, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work under minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and basic structuring of LIHTC transactions
