As part of the Defined Benefit (DB) Operations team, facilitates a variety of processes including system programming, quality assurance, data analysis, benefit calculations, payment processing, death processing, payment verifications, and beneficiary forms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and moderately complex DB Retirement benefit calculations, payment processing, and other operational processes using knowledge of ERISA and tools used to perform calculations.

  • Support projects as a calculations resource for specified clients. Perform analysis, including population identification based on documented criteria, manual research.

  • Provide technical guidance to internal partners, including call center, client consultants and project team. Execute changes to DB payments, contact information, taxes, EFT detail, beneficiaries, etc. per participant or client request.

  • Review payment related forms to determine if in good order, and process based on knowledge of applicable rules and regulations,

  • Review and reconcile payment files to ensure SOC1 compliance

  • Maintain and update tax documents (1099R) based on knowledge of taxation regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, math, finance, actuarial science, or related field, or equivalent education/experience

  • Two years relevant work experience

  • Basic knowledge of defined benefit pension and actuarial concepts

  • Basic knowledge of retirement industry regulations

  • Strong math and statistical skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Defined benefit pension experience

  • Computer programming fundamentals

  • Basic SQL query skills

Compensation:

The rate for this position generally ranges between $45,000 - 55,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also typically eligible for an annual based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 6%
