A tour of the Corporate Center, at any particular moment in time, could take you from the preparation of the annual report to hosting the AGM, and from providing investors with a strategy update to writing a press release.

We might even be in the middle of a strategic acquisition to support the growth of our business or evaluating a new risk model. And this year there's likely to be a team busy with Solvency 2 readiness. This European directive is scheduled for implementation in 2016, and it is extremely important to ensure that all of our systems and methods are compliant.

And we have ongoing processes like global talent management, working to develop today's talent into our leaders of tomorrow.

A different kind of customer

 

Unlike Aegon's country operations that ensure that our end customers receive the best products and service possible, the Corporate Center serves a number of different groups.

Corporate Center Stakeholders 

For example, our finance department maintains strong relationships with regulators and governing bodies. Our external communications and social media team works closely the media and government bodies to ensure that Aegon is accurately represented. Investor relations ensures that shareholders, investors and industry analysts have the information they need to make informed decisions. Internal communications ensures that all employees are working towards the same goals, and HR maintain an ongoing dialogue with current and potential employees.
