Aegon partners Startupbootcamp Amsterdam

The Netherlands, January 27, 2015

Startupbootcamp is a three-month acceleration program that connects start-ups with top-level mentors and advisors – from the likes of new partner Aegon.

Over the last years Aegon has developed significant expertise in the field of startups, with the successful launch of Facebook insurer and innovation test platform Kroodle, online bank Knab, online mortgage advisor EyeOpen, and unique insurance provider onna-onna.

Accelerator program benefits

Each Startupbootcamp accelerator program selects 10 start-ups from more than 500 global applicants to receive €15,000 for living expenses, free co-working space and over €450,000 worth of partner deals.

At the end of the program, startups get a chance to pitch to top 'angel' investors and venture capitalists for funding at the Investors' Demo Day. Over the last four months, companies from the Dutch branch of Startupbootcamp have attracted around 10 million euro in funding.

From startup to established business

And their success didn't stop there. 94% of the 50 start-ups that took part in Startupbootcamp are still in business. They have a combined market value of 130 million euro. In exchange for the support offered by Startupbootcamp, the business exchange a part of their shares.
