Grass-court tennis is Aegon blue

Summer tennis season is here and the United Kingdom grass courts are again colored Aegon blue.


Aegon tennis tournament

Many of the biggest names in tennis like Murray, Nadal, Schiavone and Sharipova are gathering in the United Kingdom this month for the start of the grass-court tennis season. As a run up to Wimbledon, Aegon sponsors three world premier tennis tournaments attracting sell-out crowds and global television coverage. All three tournaments will be broadcast live on BBC Television and Eurosport.

Aegon Championships

London, June 7-13

This men’s tournament at the Queen’s Club in London gives many of the top-ranked players their first chance of the year to compete on grass. The Aegon Championships were settled over the weekend with Sam Querrey winning an all American singles final against Mardy Fish (in photo). Find out more on the Aegon Championships web page.

Aegon Classic

Birmingham, June 7-13

Aegon Classic is one of the first grass court tournaments with the world's top competing females. This year, Na Li took first place and Maria Sharapova (in photo) was runner up. Find out more on the Aegon Classic web page.

Aegon International

Eastbourne, June 12-19

This grass-court tournament is a combined men’s and women’s event and the last stop before Wimbledon. Winners of the Aegon International 2010 are Ekaterina Makarova and Michael Llodra. Find out more on the Aegon International web page.

Aegon and tennis

Aegon has been a Lead Partner of Britain’s Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) since 2009. In the United Kingdom, Aegon is investing at every level of the sport to improve tennis facilities, develop the country’s most talented players and build the Aegon name.
