Scotland votes to stay in the UK

The Hague/Edinburgh, September 19, 2014

On Thursday September 18, Scotland voted to stay part of the United Kingdom.

Aegon UK appreciates that some customers, advisers and employers may have had concerns prior to the referendum over possible implications for them had Scotland voted to become an independent country.

Adrian Grace, CEO of Aegon UK, reflects on the outcome of the referendum. "We will continue to focus on serving our customers across the UK."

In the UK, Aegon offers retirement, workplace savings and protection solutions to around two million customers and employs approximately 2,100 staff. Aegon UK's revenue generating investments totalled £58 billion as at 30 June 2014.
