Transamerica, Aegon’s US brand, has partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) to promote heart-healthy lifestyles as integral to achieving a sound financial outlook.
As part of this new alliance, Transamerica has committed to championing a culture of health in its workplaces and within the communities where it has major operations, encouraging employees to actively participate in AHA Heart Walks and engage with various AHA-led community initiatives.
Transamerica will also serve as the lead corporate sponsor of the American Heart Association's Heart Walk in Baltimore, Cedar Rapids, Dallas, Denver and Tampa Bay.
"Our core purpose is to help individuals and families achieve a lifetime of financial security," said Mark Mullin, president and CEO of Transamerica. "At the same time, we recognize that in order to fully enjoy the benefits of good financial planning, it's essential to also enjoy the benefits of long-term physical well-being. It's about making the right choices and sticking with them."
Mark A. Creager, M.D., president of the American Heart Association, said "We applaud Transamerica's investment in the health and well-being of the people they serve, and for partnering with the American Heart Association to promote heart-healthy lifestyles along with sound financial health."
